Sharad Pawar Speeds Up

Why is the Indian media going overboard with statements by Indian cricket board officials criticizing the farce that was played as the world cup 2007 final match? It sounds as if the Indians had sub contracted the world cup 2007 organization to the Caribbean’s, who having failed at it, deserve the wrath of the big bully.

It was, after all, a final that more than half of the cricket loving people in the country never bothered to watch on the television. Many did not even know the outcome of the match until they opened the following day’s newspapers. And all they bothered to read was the result. The Australians again.

Why even the papers did not pick up the `post bad light offer farce,' until 24 hours later.

The first thing that occurred to me hearing the final was wound up in 36 overs, was the days of twenty-twenty are not far behind.

If a world cup final could be finished up in 36 overs there is no reason why all the ODI cannot be converted into a half a day version of the game.

Let us not forget that the Indian media for all its tough posturing could not get out a decent statement out from the mouth of the BCCI president, Sharad Pawar, leave alone censuring him, when the country was thrown out of the tournament.

In fact, Pawar, when asked for his reaction pointed out to the BCCI spokesman, trying to teach the media who they should talk to when.

And now this Niranjan Shah, who should have been no more than any other spectator at the ground, issues a mild threat that the BCCI is considering a no confidence motion against the ICC.

`A NO CONFIDENCE MOTION FOR MINOR FIASCO THAT COULD NOT HAVE INFLUENCED THE RESULT OF THE FINAL MATCH.

And shall we know what does Niranjan Shah, HAVE FOR SHARAD PAWAR FOR MAKING A FAISCO OF THE INDIAN CRICKET ?

The Sharad Pawar, who soon after the Indian ouster from the preliminary round, had famously said HAVANS and PUJAS do not a win a world cup, has not yet revealed what else he is on to in its pursuit. Perhaps, Niranjan shah, has let him know, ``Sir, you could not be worse than Malcolm Speed as the ICC chief.
Some compensation for the office of the prime minister of India.
